Disk wasn’t ejected because one or more programs may be using it

This occasionally bites.

To find out what the program is that’s using your external disk use:

sudo lsof -xf +d /Volumes/

For example, I’ve had Spotlight indexing the drive. Restarting fixed it.
And iTunes downloading something. Closing it fixed the problem.
